As those who have been to jail, or visited someone in jail knows, in Australia most inmates wear Green. In the workforce we have all heard of White Collar, or Blue Collar jobs, so now we have Green Collar. Green also represents sustainability. People are our most sustainable and important worldly commodity and with mental health and other issues being so common, we aim to restore hope and give mening back to lives." Fair question. Our collaboration with employers and Allied Health professionals is specifically designed to overcome some of the obstacles and treat your problems. These aren't always just unemployment, or money, but may are usually more complex. Common problems faced are often around shame, mental health and lack of confidence. We address all of these and provide you with practical ways in which to treat these problems.
We partner with Workforce Australia partners, Recruitment Agencies, Legal Aid Victoria, Good Minds Australia, Ready Set, Fruit2Work, Second Chance Jobs and various medical groups, volunteering providers and some employers. Every client will have a slightly different need and we can help to solve those problems through our partner network. We are advocates of social justice and are ambassadors for employers to diversify their workforce and give people a second chance.
Depending upon your circumstances there is no fee. The program is self funded and is a social enterprise.
The Green Collar is both Face to Face and online and volunteering. If you don't have a smart phone we can make arrangements for your one-on-one coaching to be done via the telephone.
Anyone who has been in jail, or has a criminal record. We can even talk with those suffering from motivation or mental health issues - often substance use related, but not necessarily.
