Green also represents sustainable. Humans are the earth's most important commodity.
Fair question. Our collaboration with WISE Employment is specifically designed to overcome some of the obstacles and treat your problems. These aren't always just unemployment, or money, but may are usually more complex. Common problems faced are often around shame, mental health and lack of confidence. We address all of these and provide you with practical ways in which to treat these problems.
We partner with WISE Employment, Recruitment Agencies, Legal Aid Victoria, Good Minds Australia, Ready Set, Fruit2Work, Second Chance Jobs and various medical groups, volunteering providers and some employers. Every client will have a slightly different need and we can help to solve those problems through our partner network. We are advocates of social justice and are ambassadors for employers to diversify their workforce and give people a second chance.
Depending upon your circumstances there is no fee. The program runs out of WISE Employment facilities and is Government funded.
The Green Collar is both Face to Face and online and volunteering. If you don't have a smart phone we can make arrangements for your one-on-one coaching to be done via the telephone.
WISE Employment clients. Anyone who has been in jail, or has a criminal record., or suffering from motivation or mental health issues - often substance use related, but not necessarily. We also accommodate those who have court cases pending. We have a lawyer on staff, along with recruitment specialists who have faced the same kinds of problems once and have found a way out.
We run programs continually in various WISE Employment locations around Melbourne. Each participating WISE Employment branch will have a specific day each month (sometimes twise a month) they commence the program. Ask your EP, or contact us on enquiries@thegreencollar.com.au
The program runs for 4 weeks. This includes four face-to-face sessions, 8-10 group discussion online meetings, volunteering and one-on-one coaching. At the conclusion of the program each participant will be able to meet employers and receive a certificate of completion. Court reports, or other medical referral needs may be ongoing, but this can be discussed at registration time.
